ADR-0043: Home statistics reflow to fit text

  • Status: Accepted
  • Date: 2026-10-15

Context

Home's unconstrained statistics row let income consume the width needed by Biggest spend and Merchants at large font sizes. Single-line values could also lose digits on narrow screens.

Decision

Measure the three labels and formatted values with their current typography. Use equal-width cells sized for the widest text, capped at the available card width, in a wrapping row with explicit spacing. Labels and values may wrap without a line limit. Keep the spent headline and existing Long-money formatting, aggregation, and lazy scrolling.

Consequences

Statistics use more rows when font size, formatted amounts, or available width require it. Full amounts retain every digit; the card grows vertically and recent transactions remain reachable by scrolling.

Verification

HomeHeroCardTest covers 320/411 dp widths, 100/150/200% fonts, light/dark palettes, demo totals and long amounts. It checks non-overlap, containment within the card (relative to the card host box, so it is independent of the device), that no line is ellipsized, that every label/value character survives wrapping, and scrolling to content below the card.

  • Amended: ADR-0088 (2026-11-03) restores the measured whole-token column choice and adds the FAB-safe section-action contract.
